I am working on a project to photograph visual artists in Northeast Pennsylvania, the Delaware Valley and Sussex County. As part of that series, I photographed Jennie Traill Schaeffer in her gallery wearing the very same apron she wore in her self-portrait completed back in 2000 while still in school.
This is a scan of a platinum print. The image was created with the use of an 8×10 View Camera and Ilford HP5 film. I forget the exact details but I believe I exposed this at either f/22 or f/45 for about 15-30 seconds. Film is ISO400 but I pulled it two stops. You worry about composition more when your camera only has one or two shots. I believe that is why I enjoy using a view camera on occasion. I am forced to really study my subject before I release the shutter.

I photographed Lindsay Brown in his home/studio, which is just a few miles outside the center of Milford, PA. Lindsay, who is inspired by shapes and the human form, surrounds himself with his art that consists of oil paintings and sculptures.
