Summit, NJ – We had the pleasure of photographing The STAR 2007, which is an annual concert presented by Kent Place School. Warren Brown is the Director of The Star and David Davis the Accompanist. The program included La Caccia, which is an early Baroque piece that is one of the most famous canons ever written; Personent Hodie, which is a 14th Century German song telling the Christian story in Latin, written in four musically contrasting strophes, containing puns on several Latin words; Sheheceyanu – A Blessing for Being, which is a familiar Judaic blessing, sung or recited upon occassions of joy or celebration; Siyahamba, which is a South African song that became strongly associated with the bitter struggles against apartheid. Its text is drawn from the twelve languages of South Africa, many of which share common words. In addition, a cadre of alumnae came forward and joined the Chorale and Orchestra on the refrains to “O Holy Night.”
